The Gemeinhardt 2SP is one of the most popular flutes which were designed in the year 1981. Basically the first beginner models of Gemeinhardt flute known as M2 was widely used in 60’s. Although it was widely used but certainly was not the best. Hence, the model M2 was redesigned and named as 2SP model.
The Gemeinhardt 2SP instantly became very popular amongst students and teachers. The mechanical quality, tone, intonation and response were now much improved in this model. While designing Gemeinhardt 2SP a young students mind was taken into consideration. It was now more rugged and the mechanism was strengthened.
There are 3 major types of Gemeinhardt 2SP flutes, each having minor variations. The basic design remains the same but the year of manufacturing differs. The headjoint of each design is different. Gemeinhardt 2SP is designed in a way that makes it easy to learn and easy to play.
